Every entrepreneur has a story. Some begin with an idea. Others begin with a challenge. Mine began with a series of life experiences that taught me resilience, strengthened my faith, and ultimately led me to create a company dedicated to helping families make healthier choices every day.
I recently had the privilege of joining Jonathan Quick on the Stories Worth Hearing podcast to share that journey.

A Life Dedicated to Serving Others
Long before becoming an entrepreneur, I worked as a journalist and community leader in Colombia, creating programs that improved the lives of thousands of people. My passion has always been helping others, whether through education, communication, or community development.
Life, however, had different plans.
Political violence forced me to leave my country and begin again in Canada. Starting over in a new country brought uncertainty, but it also opened the door to incredible opportunities and lifelong friendships.
Surviving the Impossible
One of the most emotional parts of the interview was sharing my battle with a life threatening brain condition.
After brain surgery, I temporarily lost my ability to walk independently and had to rebuild my life one step at a time. The recovery tested every part of my character, but it also strengthened my determination to live with purpose.
That experience taught me never to take health for granted.
It also taught me that even the most difficult moments can become the foundation for something extraordinary.
Turning Loss into a Mission
Losing my grandmother and aunt to breast cancer changed my life forever.
Their passing led me to question the products we use every day and the ingredients we rarely think about. I began researching the personal care industry and quickly discovered that millions of people were searching for natural deodorants that actually worked.
I tried countless products over many years and realized there was an opportunity to create something better.
I truly believe God had a guiding hand throughout this journey. When many believed it was impossible to create a natural deodorant that delivered exceptional performance, I chose to trust the vision He placed in my heart.
After years of research, testing, and perseverance, TIARA Natural Deodorants were born.
Today, families across North America are discovering that they no longer have to choose between performance and cleaner ingredients.

Before launching our deodorants, we also introduced our patented reusable shower caps, helping prevent an estimated 20 million disposable shower caps from entering landfills. Sustainability has always been part of our DNA, and we remain committed to creating products that are better for people and better for the planet.
Faith, Courage, and Resilience
Throughout the podcast, Jonathan and I discussed how faith has shaped my entrepreneurial journey.
There were many moments when giving up would have been the easier path. Instead, I chose to believe that every obstacle was preparing me for something greater.
